A STORY WORTH KNOWING

I had the word "CUTE" on my vision board since 2005. With 20 years of retail experience and serving the needs of women, I heard this word a million times. But it wasn't until I started working at Nordstrom in 2005 that the word really caught my attention in a conversation with one of my customers. The funny part is the conversation was nothing out of the ordinary. I had no idea why it struck me so different. I was trying to figure it out the whole day and nothing came about. So when I reached home, I wrote it on my vision board and said I'm gonna use it one day. It's funny how sometimes new ideas can come from something as mundane as a normal everyday conversation. This incident had awakened my senses to pay more attention, listen, and keep my brain open to new stimuli. 

In September 2011, after 5 years of business, I closed my first consignment shop called My Closet-Your Treasures. Life happened, there were plenty ups and downs, blood, sweat, and tears, personally and professionally. However, life moved on and I took those mistakes and lessons with me. Now, I realize that all the experiences in life are preparation for what God has for us in our future! He gives us more when we are ready! So enjoy every step of your journey because when one door closes a bigger and better door of opportunity opens. After everything was all said and done, I stood in front of my vision board and said, "Well Lord what's next"? He said C.U.T.E!

I had no idea what I was going to do with it nor what it was going to mean. Within the 2 months I had off, I prayed and brainstormed to figure out what C.U.T.E was all about. In December 2011, literally 2 months after I had closed, Cute Unique Trendy Essentials was established. I started off by hosting C.U.T.E events. It consisted of shopping parties in my own home and booking private shopping soirees with customers. One year later I established a website, www.CuteGirlsRock.com, to sell my merchandise. The journey continued for a few years with planning events at venues and vending with different shows between Virginia and New York. The hustle is no joke!! Long story short, hard work pays off, never give up! God sees the dreams in your heart. He will lead you to the right destination at the right time. KEEP GOING!!

As of today Cute Unique Trendy Essentials is in a 900 + sq ft. commercial space. To God Be The Glory!!
